Itinerary
Day 1: Sandakan – Kinabatangan River
Stop At: Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, 90000 Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia
12:00 (approximately): Pick up at Sandakan Airport or Sandakan area hotels. You’ll be greeted by our friendly guide and driver who will drive you to the jetty on the Kinabatangan river.
• Upon arrival at the eco-lodge, our team will help you with your room registration and refreshments will be served.
• 16:30: Follow our expert guide on a river cruise in search of Borneo’s native wildlife. This is a good chance to see Proboscis Monkey, Borneo Orangutan, Macaques, Crocodiles, rare birds and other wildlife.
• Dinner of locally sourced cuisine
• After dinner, follow our guide out on the boat again for a night cruise in search of Borneo’s nocturnal wildlife

Day 2: Kinabatagan River
Stop At: Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, 90000 Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia
06:30AM: Early morning river cruise (ideal for birding)
• Breakfast of locally sourced cuisine.
• After breakfast, head out for a jungle trek to search for animals and insects. Our guide will teach you about traditional uses for plants by the natives and the reforestation projects carried out by our eco-lodge.
• Lunch
• After lunch, have a break and enjoy the beauty that is the Kinabatangan River area.
• Late afternoon, set off for another river cruise.
• After dinner, head out on a night walk to search for Borneo’s unique nighttime wildlife.
